This website is designed to help you find out more about me and my passions for both the violin and the Alexander Technique.
Although both stand alone as separate entities, for those who choose I can teach violin lessons with the Alexander Technique as a focus for helping to play the violin more efficiently and healthily for oneself. I only offer this due to the fact that it has supplemented and helped all aspects of my playing over the years.
The Alexander Technique is an educational method that people of all ages and abilites can learn to relieve the pain and stress caused by everyday misuse of the body. It can be applied to any activity ranging from a professional art or simply sitting in a chair. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have and enjoy the site!

Biography
Due to enormous amounts of tension in her violin playing, she developed tendonitis in her arms and eventually, arthritis in her neck. At the age of 19, after many unsuccessful attempts to fix the pain, she realized it had to be the way she was doing things that was causing her problems. The Alexander Technique has helped her to not only be able to play the violin without injury, but also how to monitor how she thinks and moves throughout her daily life. Abigail now lives in the lovely coastal town of Wilmington, NC with her husband Mark and their two pets.
